Sims Gift ShopVima - The entry color is a little bright for my eyes and I've always had a negative feeling about centered text. The site features several artists and it appears each artist controls their own design. I wasn't sure if I was still on the same site at first, but backed up and realized that I was. The site has a mixtutre of good and bad objects. Some of them pass the test with flying colors Some nice recovered beds, animals, great camper walls, rock garden floors and more. Unfortunately, there are also a good share of poor objects which are off angled or flat. Some of the images are choppy and make the objects look of poor quality. If this is misrepresentitive of the objects, photos from the game would probably be more userful. It's been an exhausting night. Dane has been spinning me around on the dance floor. If I don't lie down, I think I'll keel over. 2 martinis and an extra olive.

%20code instead of spaces so that both Internet Exploder and Netscape can find the file. Omitting this elementary step means that much of the site is unusable in Netscape because, due to spaces in the image files' names, you can't see what things look like before you download them. On some pages all the graphics are unviewable in Netscape. Even worse, some of the zip files have spaces in their names, so even if you don't mind not being able to see them, you still can't download them with Netscape. Several graphics were just plain broken, even in IE; I counted eight that couldn't be seen in either browser, six of them on Lily of the Valley's page alone. And the spelling and grammar had many flaws -- I don't think I ever saw Lphntschld's name spelled the same way twice. This is pretty sloppy work, and these creators deserve better. After deducting points for poor websmithing, I give the Sims Gift Shop two martinis plus an extra lime. Squeegee - I have a objective. It's a mission to find a web browser that will give this site it's complete acknowledgment. Recognition that is due to this site. But, to be as sincere as I can be. It appears that if I use Netscape. I will see numerous broken image graphics as well as color combinations that do not agree to well with my eyes. Using IE, I see that the site loads better. I like the animation of the two babies giving each other a peck on the cheek. Very cute and I have to declare that watching that animation has settled down my emotions from discovering that my trusted and loyal browser can not read the website correctly. All is well in love and war I guess. Poor Netscape, I am loyal to thee!! Simple front page that features what some would say as a "soothing" peach type of wallpaper. I really don't think that the peach shade gives the website justice. But I will put that aside to observe the rest of what is offered. The animation of the twin babies is too cute!! But, I would recommend that it's given a more pronounced appearance on the site like at the very top. To me, and this is my own opinion. I think it appears out of place at it's present location. Navigation is very simple, that is if your able to read the small letters that appear on the golden link squares. Since it's early evening here and I am in a dark room with only the monitor giving off light. I can read the text on the buttons fine. The very top link brings the user to the work of Indian. Is this the same Indian that I have seen in the numerous forums off and on for a good year or so?? I have admired his/her work for some time. I admire it because it's inventive and distinctive then the work of others in the Sims community. People will be engrossed to the objects featured at the very bottom of the page. The damned name of that object escapes me at this time!! But it would be a nice added feature for the Western theme in House Party though.. ;) Mare's featured work stands out as also being innovative. Users will find a religious statue that actually would appear to be realistic within a Sim home. The angles appear to be correct, that's what I mean.. :) Be aware that the "Lilly of the Valley" image doesn't appear in either Netscape OR IE. And once you do go to that themed page. The user is greeted with a half dozen broken image links. I have a major pet-peeve that I must see what the objects is before I download it. And I don't care if it's a offering from Maxis. I still must have a representation reference to judge it right then and there. And with those numerous broken image links I am then denied this basic function of my well being. I will have to keep this URL handy so I can check again over a period of a few days to see exactly what is offered. It's suspense, but it's good for ones blood flow.. :) One Hundred Beans!! (100 Beans for those in Florida who can't vote correctly). A nine year old with a keenness for coffee beans?? I like what this fan offers!! I have to admit that the coffee bean wallpaper reminds me of that cult classic movie "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory". I am actually enjoying this site. Because not only can I check out the innovations of these fine people. But I can also be a spectator the unique artwork as well. I am attracted to the work of "Lphtschld". There are some beautiful things there. Well, I was not able to view the last few artist pages due to something happening with the Sims Resource server. But if I have to sum it up right now then I will have to say that I am satisfied with this encounter. I do admit that I had my doubts on how this website would be because it's not viewer friendly to both browsers. But I then add in the fact that you are able to review the wonderful work of a nine year old Sims fan and everything turns out wonderful. I am very pleased to submit a review of three martinis and a bookmark. |
