Juicy Gossip

The Sims Central

Vima - The doors are open, so I'm walking right in. No cover charge of banner ads here, so that's nice. Not even that stupid floating one that usually appears in the upper right corner of GeoCities sites. The layout seems okay at first. The logo at the top is really rough and hazy. Definately need something better here.

Affiliates get top page placement, and people may click on them right away to get away...might want to move those down the page.

I like objects, so I'm heading there first...did I say I like objects? I think I changed my mind. Let's hope the skins save them...what? no skins. Ok. So walls...Oooh, a bunch of X's. Gee, some nice work there. um. seems all you guys have are some floors and not a great selection.

Did we come at a bad time? Give you an olive. Site should be up with all these broken images. I can understand a big site having this happen on occasion, but you should be able to check over a small site rather easily.

Mason - STOP THE INSANITY!!! This site is just awful. None of the objects are even remotely viewable, none of the previews for the walls or floors work, and Im sorry but I would never put a site up and open to the public if none of the things on the site would even load?? I need a moment....*breathes deeply* Okay I am fine now... This site gets 1 martini glass.

Church Lady - This site I assume is fairly new. Not alot here yet but looks like it could become more promising. I couldn't see the pictures of the walls or roofs but that could be a problem with Geocities servers. The few objects were of reasonable quality. The Layout is easy enough to navigate and the colors easy on the eye. No stolen items or things available from other sites already which has become a rarity amoung new sites. I do so love original work! No signs of SATAN lurking about here. Not much more to say about so little so I will just give this site 2 communion cups for what they have now and well wishes that they continue and offer us still more in the future.

Skyler - Vima Vima Bo bina, banana mana fo fana, fe fi fo fima - VIMA!!! Whew, I feel better... :P

I had a few problems with this site. I couldn't get the walls or roofs pages to open at all. I did make it into the floors page, but I wasn't thrilled with anything there. On to the objects. Hmmm, not thrilled with these either. I prefer a bit more realistic looking objects. These seem a tad two dimensional for my taste, and the recolors needed a bit more time taken on them.

The houses page seemed designed a little bit better although there was only one house on it. I haven't got any suggestions for improvements... I'll leave that to Vima and Mason :D

I'll give these folks lots of bubbles :) I think I'll take the money I saved on martinis and donate it to Sim Freaks, to guarantee we always have fabulous downloads in the Sim community :) :) :)

Vima, I submit this for your review: How about we do three bad sites, one totally cool, three bad, one cool, etc.? I say we're due for a site that totally rocks on Friday!!! I girl can dream anyway...

Squeegee - I had one hell of a time trying to even get this website to load into my browser. I finally figured it out after I waited a few minutes to get the page to load.

The site uses link images from the websites that the link is supposed to direct the user to. So, the user has to wait for this website to sent a request for that image and then it is posted on the main page. One of the annoying images was supposed to come from homesims.com BUT that website is down right now at the time of this review. What does that mean?? It means the user has to wait and then the browser makes that little "broken image" graphic. There is another image that is like the one just mentioned, but the good part is that the image was able to load up.

I recommend that the webmaster make a copy of these small thumbnail images and place it into the server that they are using instead of using another's image that is located at a different location on the Internet.

To be honest, it took me more then a dozen times to try and get the main page of this website to load. I kept having to click on the "reload" button over and over because of the stalled time that was wasted because of that Homesims.com HTML command.

Now, the actual content of this website?? It says that there are 32 objects listed on the site. I was able to see the first page. But I couldn't see anymore. When I clicked on the "objects" link to see if there was more. I soon discovered that it was a broken link.

Walls section has all broken image graphics. It appears that all the wall images are broken links. Some of the floor images did appear which was a surprise. But this was only after I had to stop my browser from loading the rest of the page. Seems that those linked images are causing all sorts of issues on this website. All the roof images are broken links as well.

I do have a pet-peeve with some objects that look like one dimensional and do not have sides to them. There are a few on this site and I would never download them and place them into my game. I am not sure if this is a issue with other Sims players. But I try to obtain objects that look like they are pictured at the same exact angles as the rest of the Sims objects.

I like the simple look of the layout. The ads are small and are acceptable on the eye. It's the simple fact that 99% of the images of the walls, floors, roofs do not work. If the broken links were corrected and the Homesims.com image was placed into the website instead of using another's image. I would then rate this website higher.

What it boils down to is the lack of attention to detail and making sure that the site is in shape for a honest review. I give this website a review of one half chewed cherry.
