Simply Living 2000!

Vima - Pretty, pretty, pretty. Such a lovely greeting too. Ooh, what's at the bottom? Someone squashed the Livin' Around the Sims banner. Poor thing.

Oh, this is lovely. Have I been here before? Oh, I have, but not in a while. Pretty bedroom sets. I'm in love. :) Objects...goodie, goodie. Nice recolors. :) Very, very nice :) Dane doesn't like some of it, too girly, girly for him.

Fix that squashed banner...everything else is perfect. :) Might want to use some thumbnails when the site gets bigger. Lovely, lovely :)

3 martnis...some olives and bookmarking. :)

Sister Cecilia C. Robertsim
Pastor of the Church of Simmintology -
Hello what a truly fine evening, Oh yes it is...it is strange but I feel quite filled with the spirit of the Lord tonight. Hmmm....::sigh:: Well on to the assignment at hand. First of all I like the color scheme, pink is a nice friendly color, but I do wish that there was a bit more contrast between the background and the text, even a shade deeper would make it more easy to read for my old eyes.

I have found the entrance, and away we go! Well The sage loveseat is just lovely very simple, I really think that it may look nice in my parlor. The Khaki loveseat looks remarkably like the sage loveseat just filmed with different lighting, I wonder that we need such fancy names for things, I think we should be simple and say that they are both Green. Just my humble opinion and in reality it doesn't matter a whit what we call them, they are nice none the less...Oh my look what I just did...much ado about nothing. How unlike me! Praise Be!!

Next on the list is the Misc. section. I like pink but not the bright pink of the pink bonnet set...that is of course a personal preference. I also am not a big fan of the sets that have pictures decoupage all over them. But once again simplicity is the key to a happy life. Glory to Him!

Walls are next; ok I looked at them. I have not the eye to know if they will tile correctly on the wall I am sure others at the lounge will be able to give some fine technical verbiage to inform you, my children, if the walls are going to look nice in your homes.

The special request section has some painting by Georgette, I am buying the Victorian Lady in Black, and it is really quite lovely. Hold on let me ask that nice sales person to wrap that in brown paper so I can take it along with me.

The bedroom sets are nice, and I notice still accessible through email.

I am giving this site a rating of three communion cups. The only real complaints I have are that the headings seem a smidgen blurry to me, and that the text could be a bit brighter, or more of a contrast for me to be able to read it. The objects seem well done, and because walls are not my forte I really will leave those to others to judge. But I think it a fairly sin free site. Lord Keep us!

Well it is back to the lounge, my goodness I have been missing my little Skyler girl. There was a painting tonight that I am sure she would have wanted in her home it was titled...The Lovers....oh for shame!

Skyler - Hi Everyone... I've really missed you all so much! I hope I'm back now without popping in and out :) First off I have to thank CC so much from the bottom of my heart. We went out to have a cup tea (I managed to get her away from Pat for a few hours) just to discuss little rumors circulating around, not the dreadful kind that hurt anyone of course, just the fun stuff ;) As I've mentioned here before I'd never made it to the 21st century, all I had was a stinkin' dial up :( CC, kept my spirits up and always assured me my time would come, to keep the faith and say my prayers. PLEASE don't tell CC I already say my prayers every night, it might cause her to plop over right there and then, and we wouldn't want that! However I started name dropping, and CC must good connections, because just three days ago I finally got DSL!!! Yippee, joy, joy :) Thank-you to everyone who has ever listened to me whine and complain over that one, specially Vima, as I know very well she can't tolerate a whiner, unless it has involves z buffers or has the wood "cooler" behind it ;)

I suppose I should do a review now? LOL :) The very first impression of the main page is I just love this back ground. I love the floral border to the left, the creaming background, and the color for the text, however I would have gone I tinge more burgundy. But it's all so eye pleasing!

I then innocently scroll down And I have "stuff," that isn't necessary flashing at me. If your must show of your friends Jeep, why not one cute little icon linking to it, and why does your Simply Living 2000 keep coming together to break back apart, and the purple twirly Jeep thingy is yuck. This page is loaded with class, but when we scroll to the bottom be easily forget all the beauty we saw up above and reach for the Motrin.

So... Let's enter the photos. Generally I just do a quick browse through these because you don't usually see the quality you see in these. Most of them have beautiful frames with marvelous pictures used. This section is worth a look at!

As for the bedroom and living room sets, even thought thry're all recolored I thought they did a very good job on them. The castle bed is done in a bright royal blue. You usually only see those in more subdued tones, so I really like it :) What I REALLY want to know is where those two round pictures were gotten from in the room with the castle bed, I loved them, and would really liked them ;)

No kitchen set yet... Boo hoo :(

Wallpapers... There are some gorgeous papers used here with quite a variety to choose from also, and the majority of them tile up very nicely. Definitely worth a stop and look ;)

On to the misc. section There's a cute bear rug for a nursery, and the blue & Red set isn't terribly bad. But this is what I say when I look at furniture with pictures plastered all over them. You buy them in real life? Probably not. The Sims is not real life so we can do what ever we'd like to do with it. I'd like to see maybe more color changes for the kids of the more grown up furniture, then make the curtains, bedspread, wallpaper, throw pillows, etc., to downplay the "older" look of these furnishings. Just my opinion :)

Over all I like the site quite a bit, I do plan on coming back for the pictures if nothing else.

Three martinis with extra bubbles, and a definite bookmark for this site :)

Storel - Simply Living 2000 is a nice little site with a Victorian ambience. The text could be a little darker, though, for greater readability, especially by those whose vision is less than perfect. This is one of those rare sites that actually look better in Netscape than in Internet Explorer; plus points for that.

Most of the objects are a bit... frillier than I go for personally, but that's in keeping with the Victorian theme. They seem well done for the most part, particularly the living room sets; I'm not fond personally of the Vegas-style armchair and loveseat, but these are nicely done recolorings of them, possibly the most tasteful I've seen. The Paintings section has some decent pictures with interestingly varied frames, and the Specials section has some nice Victorian paintings and mirrors, too.

Some items have a few visible flaws, though; in particular, the blue floral castle bed has some visible seams in the blanket. The bedroom sets may have been the site owner's earliest work, though, as there's a note in the News section that their download files have been removed for lack of space, though they're still available via email.

I don't quite know what to make of the Misc. section. The first two sets are in tasteful colors, but in my opinion pictures of bonnets and fairies don't really belong on bookcases and desks unless they're kids' furniture... and that fairy is a bit too scantily clad for a kid's bedroom, especially a Victorian one! *grin* The blue and red set is more obviously intended for kids: bright primary colors, plastered with choo-choo trains. Perhaps this was intended as a boy's set while the other two are supposed to be girls' sets.

Overall, a nice place, especially for fans of the frilly. Three martinis, plus an extra lime for the Netscape niceness.

Squeegee - Truly a satisfying and reassuring feel to a site as it loads with the subtle color of peaches. The main page is undemanding, but I do see a few animation banners towards the bottom of the page. WOW, those Jeep pictures just flip through the series so rapid that I will be forced to check out that Jeep page just to get a decent look at the pictures!!

The navigation layout is simple and user friendly. I simply love it. But I do have to mention that the "enter" button on the front page is not prominent enough. I think it might be placed in a different location or the size of it increased so that it's easier to be noticed.

By clicking on the "New" button. I am brought to a agreeable marble bathroom selection. I am pleased with the large and friendly screen shots. These substantial images highlight the new things and make the user examine them close to see if they want them or not. I tend to frown on the images at places that are so small that you really have to question that the hell your looking at. That is just not the case here. :)

There is a decent selection of living room sets offered. I made it a point to look at everything that was accessible and I have to add that it's more on the feminine side. You can't help but love the amount of things that are included in these living room sets. The chairs are re-colored, but re-colored with an eye for detail. Too often you see a re-colored chair that just doesn't fit the overall balance of color. The "Sage" and "Khaki" sets are excellent examples of realistic re-coloring. The bedroom sets are just the same. The blue used in the Royal Blue set got me into an hallucination. I love that shade!!

I urge users to take a peek in the "Specials" section and gawk at the beautiful vintage paintings. Also, I enjoy looking at images that have borders to them within the picture frame. I noticed that all the images offered in the paintings section have this detail to them. I just have that opinion that paintings that have borders to them seem more sophisticated then those that do not. There are some truly beautiful paintings offered that would add to any vintage themed Sim household.

The site is evenly balanced. I really did not see any part of the website that had "went wild" so to speak and had too much of one thing. I like the look and the love that went into the site.

I submit a review of three martinis and an extra chewed up cherry. Plus a bookmark!!
