Nighttime Sims

Vima - Nighttime is the right time to for makin'...ahem. Now, this is the right type of place to be going out at night!

Such a really nice font that looks great in white on that slightly starry background. I do which that it didn't say NighttimeSims all over the background and I think the blocky logo might have room for improvement. The square block of celestial matter just seems a bit sharp and doesn't flow well.

I know Squeegee hates banners, but this one doesn't seem intrusive.

As I've said before, I have a pet peeve with centered text. It's a small block, so it's not so hard to follow, but I think centered text should be left for headlines only.

Oh, I see that they want me to download the font. I don't normally, but as a reviewer, I've decided that it's my duty. While I do like the font, I don't feel it's appropriate for the main body of text. It's just a little hard on the eyes for that. Great for Headers and Titles though.

I saw some skins at the bottom and tried clicking them. Some of the skins have a little white line around them...needs a little clean up and the glow is chopped off.

Entering...pop-up, pop-up...I really hate terrashare, but I guess they are fighting the advertising battle.

Blinking stars are rather interesting...might get annoying if I had to look at it for a long time though. The people here always seem very cheerful and pleasant!

Oh, our banner is up. Somebody actually likes us! :) hehe

This site seems a little more gothic than my tastes in skins. Some of the heads have heavy eyeshadow and strangely tinted hair, though not too obnoxious. However, I would think that in the game the overplay on eyeshadow may not be so bad...However, there are also a lot of mainstream styles that are just delightful!...I never knew. :)

While I can see a lot of effort has been put into the skins, I'm not overly thrilled with a lot of them. I think the best skins come from real life samples of clothing and/or textures and have shaded hemlines, shadows and highlights.

There are a few cute objects here, though the pickings are slim in their own section, as well as the guest area. The paintings are your Art Studio variety, and some aren't bad despite the fact. Ooh, I see nudity CC. Cover your eyes gal.

Looking at the walls, going to the Egyptian area...looking through and thinking...they have such a terrific background for the page, why didn't they make a wall of that! A lot of the walls are a lot of solid color lacking texture and I prefer a nice paper for the most part. I see a mixture of good to okay prefering walls such as what is on Misc. page 2 than most of the solid colors. The textures applied to some of the colored walls were a little overdone for my taste and I might have enjoyed the walls had they been a little less abrasive.

The floors seem to go with their walls in some fashion and I would've like to have seen the pairs displayed together. However, I really didn't care for some of the wallpaper sample style of floors anyway.

My last negative is their minibutton isn't standard size 88x31 and I had to distort it on my banner page...though not really noticeable, there are standards set for a reason and I just prefer people stick to the regulated sizes.

So, skins okay, heads great, walls eh, floors eh, object promising...so far so good and nice navigation. You surf around and can still jump to another section anytime...the prime example of what should be. Three martinis and an extra olive!

Skyler - Good morning all. I stayed in last night and feel great this morning. I'll just get right to the review. I've been here many times before and am quite a fan of Tojahs faces. Now that I'm doing a review I'll look at them with more critique ;) I'd like to mention I like politeness of the webmaster(s) on the main page. Welcoming us to Nighttime Sims, to enjoy our visit and they're open to suggestions also making themselves available for questions :)

First I'll go to faces of course. Some of the gals are a bit made up for my tastes, but there are also ones with very little make up that are gorgeous. The eyes have an exotic look to them, especially the medium and darker skin tones. Generally speaking I prefer her darker hair faces to the lighter ones. The only male face that really interested me was Paul... I may have to ask if I can bring him to the lounge with me next week ;) I also like most of the kids, and have an older look to them, more of a teen look than a small child. So in total I picked up 7 new faces: 3 women, 1 man, and three children. Ooh... I haven't looked at Von Lind faces before... Let's see, very heavy eye make up here, and a few bizarre hair and eye colors. Not my thing, but not bad at all.

On to objects... I see nudity, I love nudity (hush CC that is how God intended us to be, isn't it?) ;) I'll pick up the make-up and the bathroom self while I'm here to see how they look in the game later. I'd like to see the self available in white too, as so many people decorate in white.

Generally speaking these walls and floors aren't my type aren't my type. With that being said some of them do have good texturing to them and line up perfectly. Other's have now texture but still tile perfectly. The same can be said about the floors. It may be a thought to have the walls with the matching floors.

On to skins... First comment is to Camilla. I bet you looked absolutely stunning in your News Year Eve dress, I think the real thing must be gorgeous, and I'm sure the skin doesn't do it justice! Most of these skins are a bit to trendy for my tastes, although there were a handful of more sophisticated styles that I liked. I just had to have the little spaghetti strapped black lace nighty though... It's look wonderful with my deep auburn hair ;) The "Barn Dance" seemed a bit more American Indian than cowboy but I liked it. I never noticed it until Vima pointed it out, but some of these skins could use a bit more shadowing under the boobies ;)

All in all I really did like this site. I'd like to mention that I noticed they gave credit to every creator where an object was used in a screen shot or mesh creation, that a huge plus!

I think there's something on this website for all tastes out there. I raise all three martini glasses with extra bubbles. I really do like this site, and did prior to reviewing it :)

CC&V, I know you both missed me last night LOL ;)

Mason - Well I just love this font right off the bat and since I have this font on my computer I can enjoy this site completely. OooOo They have a link to SimLounge how nice of them! Oh I like the amount of skins they have here! Tons of them in every kind, Kids, Women, and Men! That's great! The objects section is a little small but nice none the less. The screenshots are nice and big so you can see the objects clearly, I like that! Oh and I just noticed they have a sets page for Clothing as well, you can get everything in one click! The Walls and Floors a nice and original which is always a plus with me! I must download a few while I am here. click click The faces are nice and well done, and of course you gotta love Fionn's Real Hair Meshes from Sim Freaks! I really do like this site it's a nice change from all the rest. Contrary to popular belief I am not having an affair hehe. * pokes Vima in the side* I hope everyone has a Happy Easter! Three flirtinis and an extra orange!

Squeegee - Well, it seems I am reviewing this site as it's in the process of moving to another location. I will assume that they will stay in the same format as soon as it's moved to a new location.

Nighttime Sims, I like the theme and the mysterious look to it. The darkness look goes with the theme and I like how the small cursor animation is made to appear like a star. Normally, I am not fond of these cursor things because of that one program (I can not recall the name) that is a animated cursor download that is known to obtain information from the user. So, I am always trying to shy away from those damned things.

I enter the dark night.. :) And I discover another page with the navigation bar on the top of the site. I like this since the bar will always be on top no matter where I travel in the site. It's VERY convenient for me. But I have a hard time trying to read the font. The font is just too narrow to get a full view of the words. I am able to see most of the shapes of the letters to know most of the words.

I start to click on the different areas like the faces, objects, female skins, male skins I find that each area has a entirely different background and graphics. I do see that the main navigation window stays the same. But I honestly get confused at all the different colors used. Since the site is titled in part "Nighttime" and the site has that dark theme at the start, you would think that the same theme would be followed all through the site. So, as far as background and images there is just no consistency or uniformity. I do like the numerous backgrounds and graphics. But that is the point, they are numerous.

Of all the different backgrounds and text images, I do like them all. But the person needs to find some middle ground to what style they like and try to stick with it. It's a humble opinion anyway.

As for what is offered. Tons of skins!! There are bunches of artistic skins in each of the different areas. I have taken notice of the "Party" theme of skins (and walls) made by Tojah. Some nice work in the American Indian (Barn Dance) skin sets.

Also peek into the "Faces" area. There are a few goodies for every taste.

There are numerous different areas in the walls section that hold tons of different walls. What stands out, are the walls in the Spanish theme that contains what appears to be Spanish tile. Those same tiles are also in the Floors section of the site. Very pretty and I have not seen any other sites that feature that nice tile.

There are a few objects that are worth looking at. I didn't spot anything that I would like. But that doesn't mean that others would not. I have a picky taste, so it's nothing against this imaginative site.

What I adore, are the paintings in the "Lempica" style that are featured in the paintings section. They have that 1930's look to them. I am not familiar with the artist, but I love it.

Sitting back and thinking what type of review I would give. I would have to say that this is a generous website that provides a nice selection to anyone who takes the time to browse the different areas. Those Spanish tiles are beautiful and I will freely recommend to others where they can obtain such works of art.

The only negative to this website is that there is no uniformity to the color scheme/layout/structure. Again, of the other colors and images used for the layout, they were outstanding. I can tell the user uses Photoshop to make them. But, I would have to stress that all those different layouts hurt the theme of what the title of the website expresses. And that is the "nighttime" theme.

I send praise and the review of three martinis.

Sister Cecilia C. Simser:
Church of Simmintology. - Right off I had mixed emotions, and that is just on the first page. I should have been shocked and dismayed at the scantily clad sims and I was, but I really should have high tailed it out of there, with the good book clutched to my bosom like the very shield of God. But then I saw the little stars that were following me, like when I was young and on Independence Day my Momma let me have a sparkler to write my name in the night sky. Good times, I have gotten all carried away and had to sit and move my mouse around for quite some time, I can spell out the words to my favorite psalm. Hallelujah.... Of course back then it was all good until someone put his or her eye out. My goodness those stars sure are.....so.... hmm....::sigh::

::Applies smelling salts to the area directly under her nostrils and realizes the error of her ways:: Praise Be!

Oh well I had better just get inside before I forget myself, I hope that Skyler didn't catch me dilly dallying, I have been trying to get her to be more serious.

I am going to go to FACES first tonight, well this Tojah is quite good, one particular face I really liked, not sure if it is because she looks just like my favorite grade school teacher, Miss Johnsim, well what ever it is the "Francine" face is quite nice. I didn't care for the children as much, but the men well I cannot imagine what a certain Lounge member will say about them.

The objects were fairly sparse, as the site seems to be in the process of moving, if the men wandering around with objects tucked under their arms are anything to go by.

Floors section is next, I like some of these Spanish tiles, might be nice in the Academy's kitchen, I wonder how washable that grout is??? Walls are not really my thing, I know what I like but I will leave the other stuff to someone else at the Lounge...well.......

My only real problem with this site is the font is very hard to read on these old eyes of mine, the links at the top of the page were not too clear, I had to move very, very close to my computer screen!

Well I really should look around more but, I think I may just head outside and play with the stars again....shhhh don't tell Skyler!

I am giving three and an half stars to the Nighttime Sims and those stars....oh Lord help me fight the temptation!!
