Juicy Gossip

Great Sims Stuff

Vima - I hit refresh thinking there must be some sort of mistake because I'd been blinded by light text on white. I want to skip through quickly for fear I may lose my sight.

Oh no! They've tormented the Maxis moose...removed the poor things antlers. What are they thinking? Electronics and I'm scrolling, scrolling...this isn't good. The display here is really poor. These would look better with game screenshots I think. Someone tried to cut around these and ruined them or something...Yummy fruit. :) Oh, the site is blue now...hmmm. I like this much better. Maybe it will be fixed by the time I release this review. :)

Oh, some pretty decent walls; although those last two could use some groove reduction. Not much here though, only six of so far the best area on the site.

I don't know what's going on here, but the site is a mess. The experience just unpleasant...did I catch you at a bad time? The site seemed very inconsistant which leads me to believe there is just some problem happening here that wasn't intentional.

One olive.

Well, well, well the first thing I see when I come to this site is the lovely sentiment that Patience is a Virtue! It is rare to see one so young with such a strong grasp of the Good Word, that and the fact that this site uses Blue makes me like it at first glance. Praise be!

Great Sims Stuff is an objects site. There are some nice objects here.

The female moose head is well done, but I do not condone the hanging the heads of animals in our homes. It is a religious belief! The heart lamp is a bit cartoonish in nature, so not to my taste. I do like the "nice lamp" it is...nice. :)

What else? Let me see oh the toilet chair, I don't know how I feel about that. I have no reason to have something like that in my home. Oh goodness, what would Pat think about it I wonder?

Well I think that this young person has the beginnings of a really nice site here, and as he works more he will get more proficient at object making. I am giving two and a half communion cups with a wish that this site stays around for a long while and that we see it grow! Hallelujah!

Well I am off to the lounge to see what everyone is doing tonight. Remember my children that the Lord is always watching, and he knows the intent of your hearts. SO even if you merely "think" about the bubble machines He will Know!!!!!

Storel - Great Sims Stuff has a nice look. The blue and white are very calm and soothing, although the blue text could be a little darker for better readability. The whole site and all the objects were created by thirteen-year-old webmaster Scoop666, who shows definite promise in web design.

The Objects section has an extensive selection. I have to admit, though, I really don't care much for objects with "inverted" or "negatived" graphics. When done to black or white objects, it reverses all the highlights so the lighting looks odd, and when done to colored objects it also produces very unusual colors that are instantly recognizable if you've ever spent much time looking at photographic negatives. Unfortunately, the large majority of objects here have been done this way.

Objects that stand out include: a medieval fridge that looks like a large barrel; the Food section, which only has a banana and a kiwifruit right now, but should have several new foods soon; and a nice old-fashioned lamp.

The Walls section had some good-looking walls. I just wish there'd been more than six of them. And the Programs section has nothing but an obsolete version of Transmogrifier, version 1.1. Um, Scoop, three more versions of Tmog have been released since that one...

I think Great Sims Stuff would do well to move away from "inverted" objects. The announcement that several more food items are in progress is a good sign, and more walls would help. For now, though, all I can give it is two martinis.

Squeegee - This site is a brilliantly detailed website for being the pride and joy of a 13 year old from Canada. The site contains creative items for a Sims fan of that age. And I congratulate the time and effort that went into the creation and upkeep of "Great Sims Stuff."

I do have troubles with trying to read the light blue text that lay on the white background. But taking this into consideration and viewing the "big picture". It's really only minor.

I tend to use a large monitor that gives me twenty viewable inches. Because of this large sized monitor I tend to contemplate if I am the only one that notices the "spill over" of the blue lines that make up the background border. I can see what would emerge to be the same design starting again on the right side of the website.

Updates seem to have been placed once a day. But the last one was posted on 23rd of April. I do prefer the frequent updates and this site carries that. Just not sure what happened in the past week. :(

Listed are the typical areas like "Wallpaper", "Objects" and "Programs". In the Wallpaper section there are only six featured wallpapers. I am impressed by the details that were placed into the selection. Walls #5 and #6 are highly textured and yet when used within the game they blend together well on the edges. Nice work!!

The "Programs" page introduces only the Transmogrifier and a reference to obtaining programs from "Simsprograms.com". I am not sure if a website can offer the T-Mog program like that or if they already have permission. But it's in attendance nonetheless. There is also a reference to obtain more material from Sim Programs.com.

The "Objects" section offers a ordinary selection of odd recolored objects such as the "Toilet Chair" and the "Stone Flamingo". One features a black void in the center of a chair cushion and the other is a white/gray Flamingo. Kind of like the creative names and uses that were made for these recolored objects.

Overall, the site doesn't have a large selection. But it does offer a few unique things that stand out and place a smile on my face. I am sure that in time this site will offer more to the Sims Community and look forward to this.

I submit a review of two martinis.
