Disturbed Sims

Vima - Arriving late as usually, I get stopped at the door. I think I see Monte Hall! I'll choose Door #2. The colors are dull and drab, a perfect combination for a site with a name such as theirs. The design is very nice, apparently very thought out and navigation looks good.

Pages seem to take quite a while to load, which really brings it down. The objects for the most part look really nice. S.M. Lust and Anakasia seem to have the highest quality, but some fo the others look a little rough around the edges. However, they didn't fail to pay attention to the angles for objects, which is one of the most important elements.

There seems to be a navigation problem going from one section to another I get errors. Either that or the skins section is non-existent.

The hardwood floors look nice, and tile well, but some of the carpets I wouldn't waste my time with. I'm growing tired of waiting for the next page to load and it's to the point where as a normal downloader, I'd say "It's just not worth the trouble" and leave. Still waiting for walls to load and have had enough time to type this whole paragraph...still waiting.

Hardly worth the wait. Most of the walls are in some form the Livin' Large walls. Perhaps expanded on to create a few different looks, but I really don't use the animal patterns much, so I wasn't interested.

Well, I've seen enough. Tired of waiting for it to load...I'm leaving...with my two martinis with an extra olive that I'm throwing at Squeegee ;)...

Skyler - Well, Vima, I like this site. Not necessarily the look or the way it's set up. It has a kind of futuristic, mechanical, male look to it, which is good if it's run by a male, I happen to enjoy males very much ;)

I like all the info on the main page. Update info and little tidbits. I didn't know what an interface was, OK so I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to computers. I had to ask a friend, then it all made total sense!!! LOL He/she does a very good job at making interfaces for the Sims too!

I think the objects are quite unique and appear to be well made for the most part. The most creative seem to be the walls and floors. They've taken walls and floors from the game and created matching floors for the walls and vice versa. Generally I don't use the floors and walls that came with the game, but I really like everything to match in my game, and think this was a fab idea!!!

I like the skins too, they seem to have some texture to them, and again they are creative. They have a very broad spectrum of designs too.

Again, I like this site all in all and happily toast them with three martini glasses with extra bubbles!!!

Squeegee - Shades of gray and nothingness. That's all the stimulus that I was able to see for the first 15 minutes trying to load the website. I had turned off my ads filter and that opened up the flood gates to the abyss of pop-up ads. I assumed that there was one banner ad that was causing to the website to halt in the middle of the loading. But I am going to assume that it only happened to me.

What is going on with that VERY petite pop-up window ad that appears on the lower right of the monitor?? This is a very irritating trickery type of action that I have not seen at a Sims associated site in months. Now, I can understand a XXX rated site doing things like that. But a Sims site?? If it's the feat of Disturbed Sims, and then I would suggest a more pleasant way to get the ads to the user. Not some shifty ploy hoping someone will not notice. Anyway, I was ultimately able to load the site using my ads filter.

Looking at the website. The updates are frequent and yet the colors used for the text (black on gray) impair my eyes. I find it worse to try and read the bold black on the gray background. There is a very selection of downloads. But it seems that my browser stalled yet again trying to look at the skins page.

I am trying here, I really am. I just now tried to view the website using the revolting IE browser. I did this thinking that maybe the site just is not friendly to loyal Netscape users. And guess what?? It worked.. But a Sims user should not have to hurdle through Circus hoops just to look over a website.

The skin section is not bad. Two skinners stand out above the others and they are Julie Port and EmmaBoBemma and it appears that Emma uses SimPose for showing off her skins. It's a plus in my book.

Decent imaginative objects for download as well as nice looking floors and walls. Many of the floors are included in Livin Large though. I did find three floors that I downloaded.

Overall, I just can't get away from the fact that this site was so hard load for me. And having that frustrating ad pop up took the icing off the cake. I have taken into consideration the exceptional work by the two lady skinners that I mentioned above. And so because of them and the work that they have done. I will give this website a review of one martini glass and a half chewed cherry.

Storel - Disturbed Sims has obviously not been the same since the simultaneous exodus of object creators Atomic and S.M. Lust a month ago. The updates are much less frequent, and contain much less of any interest. In reading founder DisturbedRoach's rather plaintive news articles since then, it is hard to escape the impression that he feels out of his depth. While I appreciate the guileless sincerity in his admission that he's not much good at objects and skins but seems to be good at game interfaces, it lacks a certain... confidence. And his announcement that as of March 15 he's taking an entire month off from updating the site, after which he'll be focusing solely on game interfaces, betrays a sense of real hopelessness. Could he make such a decision unless he were certain he could not attract creators as strong as the ones who left?

Fortunately, he seems to have talked Atomic and Lust into letting him continue to display the wares they created before their departure, or the site's content would be much smaller -- although the masthead on the front page lists several more staff members, more than half the objects in General Furniture and three-quarters of the Paintings were by those two creators alone.

For what it's worth, I liked the general site layout -- the dark gray color shows text well, and is certainly more tasteful than some sites that come to mind. The first page loads rather slowly, but subsequent pages weren't too bad. The content, though, leaves a bit to be desired. Sure, some of the older downloads are reasonably creative and attractive -- the counter that matches the original Maxis bar is a great idea, and the Electronics section displays Mr. Lust's usual inventiveness -- but anyone who's visited the site before has probably got everything they want already.

Of the post-Exodus downloads, the earlier interfaces were too annoyingly busy to be bearable for more than ten minutes, but the more recent ones look like they'd be reasonably usable. Still, interfaces alone won't keep a site alive. If DisturbedRoach can't find more content creators, this site will be history in the fairly near future. If you haven't visited before, go soon while you can.

I give DisturbedSims two martini glasses for the existing inventory, plus extra stars for effort.

Sister Cecilia C. Simser:
Church of Simmintology. - 1. Yes it is my real name. 2. No I am not related to Bil Simser, although I did have a baby brother by that very name, but he wandered off. There were tales of a strange boy living among the moose. I don’t much like the creatures myself as I was bitten quite badly as a child. Well...getting a little misty eyed.

On to the task that Vima has set for me. Disturbed Sims tonight, I do wish that we could have done this thing in pairs, like missionaries perhaps. My Sister Soldier, The Church Lady, and I could have come in here brandishing the good book. Too bad she is feeling poorly dear lamb. So gird up your loins C.C. and do this thing.

The Lord is my Shepherd, I...Oh goodness! Well Disturbed Sims, yes I can see why some would get that idea. I will tell you I don’t much cotton to names like that. I think they should change it straight away.

Now, the colors are a bit...dark. Black writing on gray background. Simple and plain, like the Lord intended! Load time is a bit slow, of course my money is not to be spent for faster modems! But in spreading the good word. I do like a site with news and updates. OH my, but women with low cut dresses on the same page, oh girls get Ye to church!!

“He leadeth me not into temptation...waiting for the objects page to load. Well everything seems to be well made but some of the objects are quite beyond my knowledge, and I trust any God fearing persons.

The Skins page well now these seem quite appropriately dressed young ladies...no high heals the devils minions to be seen...oops well that is on pages one and two. For those of us out there with spiritual sensitivities I recommend not straying too far. It is chilly March weather maybe the girls should wear more? Just my humble opinion.

Was quite unable to load the walls section, but as there seems to be a lack of pastels and floral on this page as it is, I do not know that there is anything that I could download with a clear conscience anyway.

All in all despite the worrisome name it is a good site. We shall keep with the good Sister Church Lady’s rating system and give this site, four communion cups.

Back to the lounge at least there they have set apart a nice little sin free place I call it C.C.‘s Piety Corner I can pray for the staff of Disturbed Sims from there! Until later, may the good Lord bless you and keep you, but only if you are very good. Praise be!
