Coffeebug & Magickdolphin Sims

Vima - Oh, my. This site doesn't really seem to have much of a layout. Things are just slapped on the page. Use of tables could really help reduce scrolling on the main page.

Art Studio paintings, I almost always pass on, so I'm leaving as soon as I got there. The objects section I'm also passing on. The coffee bed has some fancy pillows, but then some ugly coffee mugs were stuck on and it just doesn't appeal to my finely tuned sense of style. The white wicker end table might be worth a download but I'd have nothing to go with it because I don't like the bright pink chair.

The sets are just decals slapped on Maxis furniture. While I have seen this method used effectively, I don't feel this is one of those times. There are a few decent recolors, but if you want to go this method, why not do something similar to what Moni does with her lovely paint jobs?

The floor samples are small, yet for some reason the roofs are twice as big. Normally it's the other way around. Some of the tiles might work, but the carpets don't really all look like carpet to me.

The walls are a bit to plain and childlike for me. There are a few really nice ones and the designer does understand the need for tiling. The ones with the patterned wallpaper are very nice, but there are so few of them. Most of the walls are solid with deco elements I'm sad to say. I think talent is being wasted on those when I see those few hidden gems within the pages.

The houses look nice, but there are only two. :( However, if I was looking for a house, I would probably download one of these. Interesting layouts and design.

Mason - This site has room for improvement. The objects are mostly recolors and then there are the ones that they have just pasted images on which in this case they werent done very well. They look a little too fake for my taste. There are some paintings here that I might consider downloading but not right this second. There is only one skin here and it has the coffee mug pasted onto a skirt? Don't exactly know why you would want that but ok! I give this site 2 Flirtini Glasses

Skyler - Well, the main page is very clean. No music, popup windows, or annoying music. That alone gets a martini glass! :) I like the navy blue, yellow and orange. There isn't so much on this page that you have no where to find what.

Theme sets, OK. Well, I;m not into "Land Before Time" decor so this doesn't thrill me, although some people might be. I certainly wouldn't give someone a poor rating for their tastes as all of ours vary to some extent. I still don't understand why people want to slap pictures all over furniture. These dinosaurs look ridiculous. I don't know about all of you, but I certainly wouldn't spend my hard earned simolians on a shower, tub, or toilet with dinosaurs over them. With that said, some people would, so how about at least skewing those prehistoric critters so they're at least angled right? The purple and yellow bath are "OK."

Other furniture now... What is this? There are coffee cups all over the bed! And not cute little ones you find at the designer coffee house, they're huge and I do believe they were stolen from "Central Perk" on the set of "Friends." I do like the yellow and the white wicker tables. The other recolored objects are OK, nothing I would download, but they aren't half bad. Those sofas must go! They're funny looking, the shadowing is all off, no depth to them.

Skins... There's one, and it appears the woman has been lifting entirely to many bags of coffee beans. She looks like a line backer for the professional Sims football team. Where I just happen to be a cheerleader, but that's neither here nor there.

Floors... Most of the floors are nice, again not a lot of depth or texture to them. The walls are "cute" lacking the depth and texture, but for some Sim houses they might look nice.

Now the roofs have some depth and texture, but they don't look like roofs :D The webmaster does acknowledge this and thinks they look "kinda cool" in the game. He/she is sure they will brighten up any Sim neighborhood :)

I say stick to walls, floors and roof... If your intent on doing objects, please stop slapping pictures on every free square in each sprite :/

Squeegee - Very simple, very easy to get around. The colors used for the background and the text are hard on the eyes. The text needs to be a little lighter so the user doesn't have to strain the eyes as much. Actually, the blue used for the links works well with the dark royal blue background.

No ads!! And the large banner on the very top tells the user where they are. Updates are shown right below and all the related pages are put together well. I say this because it's shown the the webmaster wanted a bare bones website that is themed towards coffee and they also didn't want to add in all sorts of little crap that would clutter the pages.

If you want downloads, you click on the related page and the downloads are shown fast and you don't have to wait. I negative is the themed around. Nice objects but the wall papers need to be something other then plain white in the background. I like the monsters and such. But the plain white will play games with your eyes in the game. Even some small amount of texture to the white would be welcomed!!

The Paintings page has some nice selected works. I enjoy what looks like personal dog photos made into pictures. I am thinking about doing that same thing with my own pictures of my new Pembroke Welsh Corgi "Jilly"!! ;)

In the "other furniture" area. Something needs to be done to the Coffeecup Quilt and Headboard. Nice idea, but it just doesn't look real for the game. I can't tell if the coffee cup images are on the bed or over it. No shading at all.

With the Walls, Floors and Roofs sections. I have to say that the floor area is pretty decent. There are a bunch I would download (and did). But with the walls, you have some of those plain white backgrounds again that have no texture to them. They would need to have some texture to them before I would download them for my game. Other then that, I would have them. Roofs?? Most of them appeared as broken image graphics. so I couldn't see the full selection.

Houses?? Only two. I would get the Dream House for Lot 3

To sum it up. It's a clean site, needs some corrections but overall a nice and relaxed place to spend some time.

Side note: If you stare at that Coffeecup Quilt and Headboard image for a long period without blinking your eyes. And then look away and close your eyes you will see those damned Coffeecup symbols!! I have a feeling that my mind will keep showing me those images for hours after I leave this site. :)
