7 Deadly SimsVima - Innovative, fun design all focused around a general idea of the seven deadly sins...boy is the Church Lady going to have something to say about that. First thing in my view is a splash page. Something that usually isn't used much today, because it takes up the visitors time. The autorefresh takes so long for me, that I never even knew there was one before. The webmaster, Claw, usually puts up a preview of what's coming. That's a nice way to keep them coming back to see when it's done. Also it enables him to release one piece at a time rather than just waiting for the whole set. Most of the pieces whether it be objects, skins, walls or floors, are just wonderful pieces of workmanship. They even have some great meshes. I don't really see a need to go into detail on this, because I think that everyone already knows this, and if you don't, shame on you. Where have you been? The only complaint I have about 7 Deadly Sims is the navigation. It takes so long to go through and download this stuff, that it just about kills me. You can spend hours here and only make it through 2 sins worth of downloads because you only get one piece for viewing at a time. Sure I love that you can see the attributes of the objects and such, but the routine becomes annoying as I grab a download, wait for it to download, back up two pages, repeat. Also, I often have trouble deciphering where I should look for particular items. The system doesn't make sense to me in most cases. For instance, would I look for a stereo in Pride or Greed? I'm not sure. Everyone endures this site for its awesome objects, but it would be nice if it was easier to get around. Also, the recent addition of pop-up ads just bites. I understand that he has a bandwidth problem, but there just has to be another way. I raise 4 glasses tossing the other into the fireplace.
Mason - OMG Somebody stop them! NO! This is by far one of the sweetest sites out there! Can we say OBJECTS!!! Holy cow, this site has everything your sims could need for furniture. I dont really like the navigation system used here, but who cares when you have 3 of the best object creators, a awesome skinner and tons of talent! All this plus little extras like DeathMatch to keep you entertained. Great theme sets such as the Retro Set, Executive Set, all the Christmas Stuff, and everything else makes me check back everyday just hoping that there will be something new. Crash is unbelievable, she has done things with skins like no one else. With the recent addition of Roy and Evaine, I am positive that we will continue to see some great things coming from this site.. I give this site 5 martini glasses.
Church Lady - SL's Special Report- "Church Lady at 7 Deadly Sins" CL>Hi Ho! Church Lady here at 7 Deadly Sins! Such a wretched wretched
place this is! CL> Shall we get just a few more opinions before I head back to the
Lounge? Miss! Miss! Sister Theresa> Yes, child? Skyler - Yippee (jumping up and down, and clapping hands) Vima does love us. She gave us a great site to review (bows to Vima) 7 Deadly Sims, Church Lady is NOT going to like this because of the name alone, wait until she see's the Lust section (lol). I could almost put money on her walking in with her Bible right up to her chest LOL First off, I must say I love this site. It totally rocks. Great objects! But now I must say I hate the navigation with a passion, which is one of the main reasons I only frequent it about once a month. I need to be in the right frame of mind. It takes entirely to long to load, then you consistently wait for each section to load, with additional wait time for the individual section thereafter to load. It gets very time consuming, but it is worth the wait for some of the wonderful items you can find there. Recently Claw has added a nice feature when you enter each of the areas, if there has been a new update your aware of it by the flashing lettering, intern cutting the time down spent searching everywhere for new updates by quite a bit. The objects offered here are some of the best available. Very unique, very well made with attention paid to detail. I've never had a problem with any of his objects. I personally love the stainless steel items offered, along with the new Executive Living Room, and the canopy bed, although I personally don't need a red bed :/ He has a huge selection of skins available too. Including, but not limited to a 500LB. baby, Jack (from Jack in the Box), Homer Simpson, Star Wars characters, Chyna and so many more! Unfortunately Claw has recently been forced to put advertisement on his site to compensate for the high bandwidth and cost for such a popular site. It's worth enduring it here though. I can't finish my review without mentioning Claws unique "Sims Death Match"! I personally love this, and think it was ingenious to come up with. It's a real giggle to watch if the bloody scenes don't bother you. I think Claw should have a match with Vima! 'Cept there might be some sexual tension goin' on =:o If by chance your new to what's available on the Internet for our Sims, and haven't been to & Deadly Sims, you must take a look at everything offered there, you won't be disappointed! Cheers to Claw with four martini glasses with extra bubbles (hic) :) Squeegee - This site has always perked my interest. This site has to be one of the most creative of the Sims related websites online. Since the site first started. It has kept up with the way it presents itself as well as being able to obtain new and improved goodies for download. The objects are unique. As well as all the skins being highly detailed and different to the standard of skins available out in the Sims Community. I am always excited to see that "7 Deadly Sims" has new things to offer fellow members of the Sims Community. And I have to admit that the folder within my game holds many of the downloads from the site. One can deal with the banner ads, since they are located within a area that is not annoying to the eye. But there is a major negative to the site. And that is the way the user has to navigate to get to a certain page that they want. I do admit that it's more easy to do so if your on a faster Internet connection. But for the modem user with a slow connection. This could mean wasted minutes having to load pages that are unwanted. During the past when I had a slow connection (I now have cable). I would change the URL to reflect where I wanted to go. I would find the "stuff" section and then hand type the different Sins into the location bar of the browser so I could skip the main Sin pages. This method had cut my time up to 60% of the time I would have used if I went through the "maze". Because this is a strong negative in my opinion. I have to add that 7 Deadly Sims must know how hard it is to navigate the website. The Sims Community is very vocal on telling websites what they like and don't like. So I can only assume that some soul emailed them about the "maze" issue. Even the Sim Newspaper "The Sim" has made a joke of this. You would think that the powers that be at "7 Deadly Sims" would take a hint and somehow make a contents page that would supply a more friendly way to get to the certain areas faster. For this, I must give this website three martinis and a half chewed cherry. |
