February 2 - Jenny Sim Home Closes

Jenny Sim Home has closed due to copyright issues. Someone cloned two of her items (she's claiming a third item as well). She also made this example image below...perhaps she will be upset with us now.

Apparently, Julie's Simporium is using clones from Jenny Sim Home. (Shouldn't that be Jenny's Sim Home? I hate improper English.)

Did Julie blow up the image of the towels and use them? Are these really her own similar objects? Read the Forum Discussion Here. The thread is now closed.

Background: Jenny came from SimFreaks and I asked my friends there a little bit about why she left.

Vima: Why Did Jenny leave SimFreaks?

Heather: JimboJenny, as we call her, felt we were prejudice because we cracked a few Confucius jokes and our pirate story had a black maid. We were trying to portray a story true to the time period, but she blew it out of proportion. Ironically, SimFreaks is made up of people from different countries and ethnic groups. I, myself, am married to an Asian (Filipino). He got a real kick out of her reaction.

She also wanted to post her stuff on other sites. As SimFreaks, we take pride in our excellent, exclusive objects. If we cross-posted our stuff, there wouldn't be a need for our site, so we chose to part ways.

Vima: Were their any hard feelings when she left?

Heather: Well, we were peeved for a while, but her stuff was great, so we tried to help promote it.

Vima: Did you read about Jenny shutting her site down because someone took her work?

Heather: I did.

Vima: Do you have an opinion on it?

Heather: Yes.

Vima: Will you share it?

Heather: After careful examination with the aid of postings from other people, I have to say the towels weren't cloned, but the other stuff was. I think that is the general feeling about it. Shutting down her site was a bit unreasonable, but I think she didn't really have much time on her hands anyway. It was probably just an excuse to close. She left SimFreaks much the same way...in a huff and irrational state.

Vima: What do you mean?

Heather: It's hard to get past a one track mind. She wouldn't listen to our point of view then just as she's doing now with Julie and the rest of the people over there posting. Enough said.

Vima: Well, ok then. Thanks for talking to me.

Heather: Sure thing.
